TRAINING AND ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

The Human Genetics Research Centre (HGRC) is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of researchers through comprehensive training and academic initiatives. The centre actively supports PhD research programs, providing advanced infrastructure and expert guidance for high-quality scientific investigations. It also encourages postgraduate and undergraduate dissertation research, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge genetic and molecular studies.

HGRC conducts hands-on workshops in Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics, offering practical exposure to modern laboratory techniques and analytical tools. In addition, specialized research methodology training programs are designed to strengthen scientific writing, experimental design, and data interpretation skills.

The centre further provides focused bioinformatics and genetic analysis training, equipping learners with computational approaches essential for modern research. These initiatives collectively aim to build strong academic foundations, enhance technical expertise, and foster innovation, empowering students and researchers to excel in the evolving fields of genomics and molecular medicine.

FUTURE RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

The Human Genetics Research Centre is strategically advancing toward the future of precision medicine through a structured, multi-step approach. Beginning with genetic counseling services, the focus is on early risk assessment, disease prevention, and personalized healthcare guidance. The next phase involves establishing a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) facility to enable comprehensive genomic analysis and accurate identification of genetic variants associated with oral and systemic diseases.

Further strengthening research capabilities, the development of a genomic biobank will support large-scale studies, clinical sample storage, and biomarker discovery. This will provide a strong foundation for translational and clinical research. The final step integrates bioinformatics and AI-based genomic analysis to interpret complex data, enabling predictive diagnostics and precision-driven treatment strategies.

Together, these initiatives aim to deliver cutting-edge genomic solutions, facilitating early disease detection and paving the way for personalized therapeutic interventions that improve patient outcomes and redefine modern healthcare.
