At Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, research is deeply embedded within our commitment to advancing oral and craniofacial healthcare. Our multidisciplinary research ecosystem brings together clinicians, scientists, and academicians across several specialised centres, each addressing unique challenges in oral and systemic health. The Research Laboratory for Oral and Systemic Health (RLOSH) focuses on understanding the intricate links between oral diseases and systemic conditions through translational and clinical research. The PreCIDenT Centre drives innovation in precision and preventive dentistry, promoting evidence-based approaches for early diagnosis and personalized patient care. The Human Genetics Research Centre (HGRC), supported by advanced molecular research facilities, investigates the genetic basis of oral and systemic diseases, contributing to biomarker discovery and precision medicine initiatives. The Centre of Clinical Oral Care, Public Health and Applied Research (COCPAR) undertakes community-based and clinical research aimed at improving population oral health outcomes and informing healthcare policy. Complementing these efforts, the Cleft and Craniofacial Research Centre has emerged as a leading centre for interdisciplinary research in cleft lip, palate, and craniofacial anomalies, supported by substantial national and international funding and a strong focus on innovation, patient-centred care, and translational outcomes. Together, these centres foster a vibrant research culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence, enabling Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of dental, craniofacial, and biomedical sciences both nationally and globally.
