At The Cleft & Craniofacial Centre, our Surgery department is the cornerstone of transformative care. Led by experienced Plastic, Reconstructive, and Maxillofacial Surgeons, we perform a comprehensive range of procedures — from primary cleft lip and palate repairs in infancy to complex secondary and revision surgeries in older children and adults. Operating within a JCI-accredited facility, our team follows internationally benchmarked surgical protocols to deliver safe, precise, and compassionate outcomes for every patient, regardless of their background.

Our Orthodontics department plays a vital role in restoring facial harmony and dental function for patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. From pre-surgical infant orthopaedics (PSIO/NAM) in newborns to comprehensive orthodontic treatment during growth years and pre-surgical orthodontics in adults, our specialists work in close coordination with the surgical team. Using the latest appliances and techniques, we guide jaw and tooth development to achieve optimal alignment, aesthetics, and long-term oral health.

Speech and hearing are central to a child's development and quality of life. Our Speech & Audiology department provides expert evaluation and therapy for speech, language, and communication challenges commonly associated with cleft lip and palate. Our Speech-Language Pathologists assess velopharyngeal function, articulation, and language milestones, while our Audiologists monitor hearing health — a critical concern in children with palatal clefts who are prone to middle ear issues. Together, they ensure every child finds their voice and is heard clearly.

Children born with cleft palate are at an elevated risk of recurrent ear infections, hearing loss, and airway concerns. Our ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) specialists provide dedicated care for these associated conditions, including management of otitis media with effusion, ventilation tube (grommet) insertion, and airway assessment. Working as an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, our ENT department ensures that hearing and nasal health are proactively managed throughout the child's treatment journey.

Feeding a newborn with a cleft lip or palate can be a significant challenge for families. Our Nutrition and Feeding Specialists provide hands-on guidance and support from the very first days of life. We assess feeding difficulties, recommend appropriate feeding techniques and specialised bottles, and monitor growth and nutritional status through infancy and beyond. Our goal is to ensure every child achieves healthy weight gain and optimal nourishment — laying a strong foundation for surgery and overall development.

The health and well-being of our youngest patients are safeguarded by our dedicated Paediatrics team. Our Paediatricians provide thorough pre-operative medical evaluations, manage associated syndromes and systemic conditions, and oversee post-operative recovery. They serve as the primary medical advocates for children throughout the treatment process, coordinating with all other specialities to ensure each child is medically fit, carefully monitored, and thriving at every stage of their cleft care journey.

Safe surgery begins and ends with expert anaesthetic care. Our Anaesthesiology team specialises in paediatric anaesthesia, managing the unique challenges presented by infants and children with cleft and craniofacial anomalies — including airway considerations that require advanced skill and preparation. From pre-operative assessment to intraoperative monitoring and post-operative pain management, our anaesthesiologists ensure that every procedure is conducted with the highest standards of safety and comfort within our JCI-accredited operating facility.

A cleft or craniofacial condition can impact not just the body, but also the emotional and psychological well-being of the child and family. Our Clinical Psychology department provides compassionate support for children, adolescents, and parents navigating the social, emotional, and developmental challenges that can accompany visible differences. Through counselling, behavioural support, and psychosocial assessments, our Clinical Psychologists help build resilience, confidence, and a positive self-image — empowering patients to lead fulfilling lives beyond their diagnosis.
