Date: 21.05.2026
Venue: Bharath EMS Solution Private Limited, Pallikaranai

In observance of World No Tobacco Day 2026, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, organized an Oral Health Awareness and Screening Camp for the employees of Bharath EMS Solution Private Limited at Pallikaranai on 21st May 2026 under the theme “Strengthening Workforce Health.”

The outreach initiative was conducted with the objective of raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use, promoting tobacco cessation, and encouraging preventive oral healthcare practices among industrial workers. Recognizing the importance of occupational health and wellness, the program emphasized the role of healthy lifestyle choices, early detection of oral diseases, and regular oral health screenings in maintaining overall wellbeing.

A dedicated team comprising faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns from the Department of Public Health Dentistry carried out comprehensive oral examinations and screenings for the employees. Participants were educated about the risks associated with smoking and smokeless tobacco products, the link between tobacco use and oral cancer, early warning signs of oral diseases, and the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. Individuals identified with suspicious oral lesions or tobacco-related oral conditions were counseled and referred for further evaluation and appropriate management.

As part of the awareness initiative, informative pamphlets containing details on tobacco cessation, oral cancer prevention, oral hygiene maintenance, and healthy living practices were distributed among the participants. Interactive educational sessions encouraged employees to adopt tobacco-free lifestyles, practice healthy habits, and seek timely professional care whenever required. The discussions also highlighted the long-term health benefits of quitting tobacco and maintaining regular dental checkups.

To further reinforce the message of preventive oral healthcare, toothbrushes and toothpaste kits were distributed to all attendees. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the employees and created a positive impact by integrating tobacco awareness and oral health promotion into the workplace environment.

The camp successfully reflected the institution’s continued commitment to community outreach and preventive healthcare by extending essential oral health services and education to the industrial workforce. Through awareness, screening, and health promotion activities, the program effectively supported the objectives of World No Tobacco Day 2026 and encouraged the adoption of healthier, tobacco-free lifestyles.
