Theme of the Day: “Spreading Awareness Through Media” – World No Tobacco Day Press Meet and Television Awareness Campaign

As part of the observance of World No Tobacco Day 2026, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, participated in a Press Meet and Television Awareness Campaign at Puthiya Thalaimurai TV Channel on 22nd May 2026. The initiative was undertaken to create public awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to promote the upcoming World No Tobacco Day awareness rally and related community outreach activities.

The media interaction served as an important platform to disseminate evidence-based information regarding the health hazards associated with tobacco consumption, including its role in the development of oral cancer and other serious systemic diseases.
