Student Council


Introduction


Student Council is a group of students volunteering and working together to provide other students expression and assistance in college affairs and activities, which gives an opportunity for student experience the leadership in establishing relation among student / faculty / community.

Objectives


  • To initiate, participate in implementation, and complete/ supervise projects and activities which will be of help to the college, the students, the faculty, the administration, and the community.
  • To encourage personal growth of leaders and leadership quality in meetings and organizations committees.
  • To provide a democratic process, through such activities as elections, participation in a committee representative, etc.
  • To show the educational and practical experiences to students by providing showing a positive involvement in the college activities.
  • To promote general welfare, self-discipline and social responsibility of the college towards the community.
  • To promote an awareness of human relations, through respecting human values with objectives by increasing avenues of cooperation among the administration, faculty and students.
  • To establish a focused development for student self-direction.
  • To establish understanding between different groups through interaction and communications.
  • To help student to develop innate potential and encourage to make ethical practitioner and active citizen.
  • To develop leadership abilities in focus for the community, state and national welfare. To establish a bride of being moulded by the institution.
  • It kindles within the students a sense of responsibility, dedication and a purpose to put their selfless efforts and towards the goal. Students will receive opportunities to practically implement what they learn and aspire to be through the council.
  • The council can be utilized to put forward and inculcate novel and innovative ideas of the young generation in various aspects like teaching, research, sports and cultural activities.

Goals


  • Encourage a sense of unity and mutual respect between students.
  • Equip students with the skills and passion necessary to become community volunteers and leaders.
  • Promote and assist in maintaining an academic and social environment free from prejudice, exploitation, Abuse and ragging.
  • Act as a link between the student community and the college administration in enhancing academic success, and sports and cultural achievements.
  • Proactively involve in enhancement of quality of patient care and contribute to various accreditation processes.

Duties & Responsibilities


THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS SHALL MUTUALLY DISTRIBUTE AMONG THEMSELVES THE VARIOUS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SMOOTH FUNCTIONING OF COUNCIL.


President

  • Shall preside at all the general body and Executive committee meetings.
  • Shall be responsible for establishing the agenda of the meetings.
  • Shall make daily contact with the students.
  • Shall be responsible for composing and sending out correspondence on behalf of the council.

Vice President

  • Shall serve in the absence of the president.
  • Shall assist the president in carrying out his/her duties.

Treasurer

  • Shall maintain a financial record of all income and expenditure of the council.
  • Shall submit the financial records to the Principal at the end of every month.
  • All the payment activities of the council must be duly initiated by the President and the treasurer of the council.

General Secretary

  • Shall be responsible for processing and filing all the incoming correspondence.
  • Shall assist in composing and sending out correspondence on behalf of the council.

Joint Secretary

  • Shall record the minutes of meetings.
  • Documenting the events organized by student’s council.

  • REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH BATCH. (2 PER BATCH – I, II, III, IV year, PGs; ONE MALE, ONE FEMALE)

Selection Of The Council Members


  • The council shall function under the guidance of the Principal, Sree Balaji dental college and hospital.
  • The Executive committee office bearers shall be elected by the general body.
  • Tenure of the office bearers shall be for a period of one year
