Student Counseling Service

At the Counseling Centre of Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, our mission is to enhance the mental well-being of all students, fostering an environment that promotes their personal growth and enriches their overall quality of life. We are dedicated to creating a conducive learning environment that facilitates individual development. The Counseling Centre offers a comprehensive range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and assessments.

In addition to these services, the Counselling Centre provides various programs aimed at promoting mental health, emotional resilience, and overall wellness within the campus community. Our counsellors actively engage with students during orientation programs, conduct sensitization programs, and facilitate theme-focused short-term group sessions. Furthermore, we offer a specialized Training Programme for Student Coordinators, equipping them with the necessary skills to address suicide prevention and effectively manage stressors on campus.

THE COLLEGE COUNSELLING CENTRE PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:
  • Personal counseling: Individualized sessions to facilitate personal and social adjustment.
  • Personality evaluation tests: Assessments for self-improvement and personal growth.
  • Vocational testing programs: Guidance for career planning and vocational purposes.
  • Information on careers and specialized studies: Resources for exploring career paths in India and abroad.
  • Scholarships and financial assistance schemes: Assistance in accessing information on available funding options.
  • Admission support: Guidance and support throughout the admission process.
  • Orientation programs: Organizing orientation sessions for incoming students.

Throughout the year, the Counselling Centre conducts psychometric tests, including Aptitude, IQ, Interests, and Personality assessments. Upon completion of the tests, students receive detailed explanations of the results and are provided with appropriate guidance.

All sessions at the Counselling Centre are strictly confidential, and no information is disclosed to anyone without the student's consent. However, there are exceptions to confidentiality in cases involving imminent harm or danger to the student or others. In emergency situations, students are given priority and can be seen promptly. Our counsellors actively listen to students' concerns with empathy and respond in a non-judgmental manner. While confidentiality is upheld, disclosure may be necessary to protect the welfare of the student or to comply with institute policies.
