On 7 March 2025, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital organized a community dental outreach camp at the Commerzone site for construction workers in Pallikaranai. The programme was conducted with the objective of extending accessible oral healthcare services to underserved and working-class populations.

A dedicated team of faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns carried out comprehensive dental screenings to identify common oral health issues such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, and oral infections. Participants received personalized counseling on maintaining oral hygiene, tobacco cessation awareness, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. Necessary referrals and guidance for further treatment were also provided.

The camp successfully improved awareness about preventive dentistry among construction workers who often had limited access to healthcare services. The initiative reflected the institution’s strong commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and the promotion of affordable and preventive oral healthcare beyond the campus.
