Module 1 commenced with an inauguration ceremony held at the Prosthodontics Seminar Hall. The event was presided over by the Dean, Registrar, and the Heads of the Department of Prosthodontics, along with Dr. Sanketh Reddy, the keynote speaker for Module 1.
Following the inauguration, the academic session began promptly. Dr. Sanketh Reddy delivered an extensive and engaging lecture covering anatomical fundamentals, bone biology, implant biomaterials, and core treatment concepts. The session was further enriched by an insightful narrative on the evolution and history of dental implants, which captivated the participants and set a strong conceptual foundation.
The second day featured an in-depth presentation by Dr. Sanketh Reddy on implant placement protocols and the principles of prosthetically driven surgical procedures. The session emphasized the importance of planning implant placement in harmony with final prosthetic outcomes.
Post-lunch, the program transitioned into a hands-on training session. The speaker demonstrated the step-by-step procedure for implant placement using models. Each participant was provided with styrofoam models and given the opportunity to practice dummy implant placement using sequential drilling techniques, enabling them to translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
Day 3 began with a comprehensive session on CBCT analysis conducted by Dr. Sanketh Reddy. Participants were introduced to CBCT software and encouraged to familiarize themselves with its applications in implant planning. They actively engaged in analyzing and planning CBCT scans of their own patients, seeking clarifications and guidance throughout the session.
The module culminated in a live surgical demonstration performed by Dr. Sanketh Reddy on a patient. The procedure was telecast in real-time for the benefit of all attendees. Participants interacted actively during the surgery, presenting their queries, which were addressed promptly by the speaker, making the session highly interactive and clinically enriching.
