As part of the Anti-Tobacco Awareness Week, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital organized a Cycle Rally and Pledge Ceremony on 3rd June 2025 at Pallikaranai Traffic Signal to raise public awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and promote a healthier, tobacco-free lifestyle.

The event began with a vibrant cycle rally involving dental students, interns, and faculty members. Participants rode through key streets around Pallikaranai, carrying pluckcards and banners with impactful anti-tobacco messages in both English and Tamil. The rally aimed to attract the attention of the general public, especially commuters, to the harmful consequences of tobacco consumption.

Following the rally, a pledge ceremony was held at the Pallikaranai traffic signal area. All participants took a solemn anti-tobacco pledge, vowing to stay away from tobacco and to encourage others to do the same. The pledge emphasized commitment to a healthy lifestyle and spreading awareness in the community. The event was supported by local traffic police who ensured smooth coordination and helped in engaging with the crowd.The initiative was met with enthusiastic participation and appreciation from the community. It effectively spread the message of tobacco cessation and highlighted the role of youth in driving public health campaigns.
