The 41st Annual conference of Association of Anatomists, Tamil nadu - SBD ANATCON’18 was conducted by the Department of Anatomy, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, Bharath institute of higher education and research under the auspices of Indian Association of Anatomists - Tamil nadu on 13th and 14th of October 2018 at the Sree Lakshi Ammal Auditorium of Sree Balaji Dental College Hospital, Chennai. The conference was organized with Prof. Dr. G. Sumathy, Organizing Chairman and Dr. B. Sathyapriya & Dr.B.Chandrakala, as Organizing Committee Members.
The conference was embarked with an inauguration ceremony with the Guest of Honour, Dr. Kanagasabai, Vice Chancellor of BIHER flanked by Prof Dr Bhuminathan, Registrar of BIHER, Prof Dr Ragavendra Jayesh, Principal of Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital and Prof. Dr. S. Kamalesh, Emeritus Professor, Department of Anatomy, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital. Prof. Dr. Girija, President, Association of Anatomists, Tamil nadu and Prof Dr. Senthil kumar, General Secretary, Association of Anatomists, Tamil nadu were also present in this occasion. The Guest of Honour, Dr. V. Kanagasabai delivered the inaugural address followed a series of lectures by eminent clinicians and anatomists.
The conference was a successful gathering of over 450 delegates and eminent speakers from various reputed organizations and their paramount talks enlightened the delegates. The experts from various specialties shared their knowledge and experiences on the following topics:

The sixth & seventh grade Students of Navadisha Montessori School came for an educational field trip ‘Sprouts 2018” on 24th March 2018 to the department of Anatomy. The school children were excited to explore the museum, histology lab and the dissection hall of the department. This programme was a more like a “Hands-on Science” workshop that involve tactile and kinaesthetic learning unlike “In-school Science” workshops that move from classroom to classroom. This educational field trip offered an opportunity to motivate and connect students to appreciate and understand classroom concepts, which increase a student’s knowledge foundation, promoting further learning and higher level thinking strategies The first year BDS students were actively involved in this programme and educated the children about the various systems in the human body through three dimensional models and charts. Useful recommendations were made to the class teachers sixth & seventh grade Students of Navadisha Montessori School to guide students on further field trips so as to enrich their knowledge on Human Anatomy.

Public health actions, such as social distancing, are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. Emotional well-being plays a significant role is maintaining positive mental health. As students may be impacted in multiple ways by COVID-19 and the closure of colleges, it is critical that we are mindful of their emotional well-being and having conversations with our students around COVID-19 can be difficult. Hence this CME Programme on Emotional Wellbeing and Coping during Pandemic was conducted by the Department of Anatomy, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, and Bharath institute of higher education on 5th of December 2020 through Zoom Video Conferencing Application. The conference was organized with Prof. Dr. G. Sumathy, Organizing Chairman and Dr. B. Sathyapriya & Dr.B.Chandrakala, as the Organizing Commitee Members. Dr.Yogesh Kanna Sathyamurthy, BTech., MS., PhD (Nerurosceience), Associate Professor of Nerurosceience, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, delivered a speech on Emotional Wellbeing and Coping during Pandemic for the first year BDS students. His valuable speech encouraged and helped the students deal with anxiety, fear of isolation and face uncertainties during the pandemic period.

5. Symposium on Neuroanatomy Neuroanatomy has been deemed crucial for clinical neurosciences. It has been one of the most challenging parts of the anatomical curriculum and hence this webinar series was planned to improve the skills of students and to promote a deep learning.
Symposium on Neuroanatomy was conducted by the Department of Anatomy, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, and Bharath institute of higher education on 6th, 13, 20th & 27th of October and 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th of November 20202 through WebEx Video Conferencing Application.
