Overview

In the department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, all patients who visit the hospital undergo a thorough screening, diagnosis, and appropriate referral to other departments for further treatment. The primary focus of this department is the diagnosis and treatment of abnormalities and diseases affecting the teeth, mouth, jaws, and related tissues. Cases involving orofacial pain, mucosal lesions, cysts, benign and malignant tumors of the jaw, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and salivary gland disorders are carefully diagnosed, investigated, and managed within the department of Oral Medicine, Diagnosis & Radiology.

Our students receive comprehensive training in the clinical skills required for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of various oral lesions. They also receive specialized training in advanced techniques such as laser excision of soft tissue lesions, non-surgical management of temporomandibular disorders using therapeutic ultrasound, and the utilization of advanced diagnostic aids including computerized tomography (CT), cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT), radiovisuography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
