Bioflims and Periodontol Diseases

A guest lecture on “Biofilms and Periodontal Diseases” was conducted on 12^th November 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Muruga Baskar Balan, Scientist at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School, specializing in Immuno-oncology and Tumor Immunology, Waltham, Massachusetts, USA. The lecture highlighted the role of biofilms in the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases and discussed innovative approaches for their prevention and management. Participants gained valuable insights into the link between oral microbiology, immune response, and periodontal health. The event was organized by Dr. Sumathi Jones, Head of the Department of Pharmacology.
