As part of the Anti-Tobacco Awareness, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital conducted a Wall Painting Activity on 4th June 2025 at Guru Vidhyashram School, Keelkattalai. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco through creative visual communication.

A team of undergraduate students, guided by faculty from the Department of Public Health Dentistry, participated in designing and executing the wall painting. The selected wall at the entrance of the school was transformed into a vibrant awareness mural with strong anti-tobacco messages. The artwork depicted themes such as the dangers of smoking and chewing tobacco, the importance of quitting, and the impact of tobacco on youth and families.

The messages were displayed in both English and Tamil to reach a wider audience, including students, parents, and the local community. The visual appeal and strategic location of the painting ensured high visibility and lasting impact.Teachers, school authorities, and students appreciated the effort, noting that it served as a daily reminder to say no to tobacco. The activity also included a brief awareness talk by the dental team, highlighting the importance of preventive habits and early intervention. This initiative successfully combined creativity with public health messaging, reinforcing Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital’s commitment to community outreach and health education. It served as a powerful tool in encouraging a tobacco-free lifestyle, especially among the younger generation.
