The Department of Orthodontics focuses on treating patients with dentofacial deformities, including dental and skeletal malocclusions and craniofacial deformities such as cleft lip and palate. Orthodontic treatments encompass preventative, interceptive, and corrective measures to maintain proper occlusion, guide tooth eruption, modify growth, and use various appliances to correct tooth alignment.
In collaboration with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the department provides combined orthodontic and orthognathic surgery for adult patients with skeletal malocclusions and craniofacial deformities. For comprehensive patient care and total dental rehabilitation, the department also works closely with the departments of periodontics, prosthodontics, conservative dentistry, and endodontics
