RESEARCH LABORATORY FOR ORAL-SYSTEMIC HEALTH (RLOSH)

The research team at the Oral-Systemic Health Laboratory is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the intricate link between the oral microbiome and systemic diseases. Led by Dr. K. Mahalakshmi as Director and Dr. K. Padmavathy as Co-Director, the team strives to promote excellence in research, focusing on the growing connection between dentistry and overall health. As changes in the oral cavity are often the first indicators of systemic health conditions, the laboratory's work is essential in enhancing early diagnosis and patient care. With a vision to explore the oral-systemic connection, the research team collaborates closely with the faculty from the Department of Microbiology and the faculty of Dentistry. This interdisciplinary approach fosters quality research, knowledge sharing, and innovation. The team's mission is not only to investigate the oral microbiome's role in systemic diseases but also to contribute to improved healthcare outcomes through collaborative efforts.
