Greetings from the Department of Microbiology, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, Chennai!

The goal of our department is to provide quality education. The process of learning is extremely important in life for the students, besides career. We believe in holistic development of the student. The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty of the best kind along with best practices ensures a bright future for the students. The staffs regularly interact with the students and parents. We are confident that our students will emerge as assets not only to this institution and to any organization they belong, and ultimately to our nation at large.

Vision

Is to impart knowledge in the pathogenic role of microorganisms in infectious diseases and in dentistry. The faculties of the department are striving hard to emphasize on the importance of surveillance and infection control strategies.

MISSION

It gives me immense pleasure to lead the Department of Microbiology of Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital. Our department is struggling hard towards its vision and mission to achieve excellence in quality education with high standards in teaching and research. The sincere efforts of the faculties are very well reflected in the awards received and the articles published in high impact journals.

I feel happy and delighted to inform that we have initiated “The Research Committee” and “The Institutional Ethics committee” which is registered under DCGI in the year 2015. Our faculty members are dedicated in research work who finds ways to work across disciplines. Our Department faculty play a key role in the functioning of “Research Lab for Oral and Systemic Health”. We have provided industrial/research consultancies for the enterprises/post graduate students of other universities, a big credit to our department.

I am pleased to inform that our faculty are invited by other Universities and Educational Institutes to deliver Invited Lectures in International and National conferences. Our faculty are also actively involved in social activities related to Social Awareness on “Infectious Disease outbreaks” & “The Need for Personal hygiene”.
