The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics

The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics is both nationally and internationally recognized as one of the premier endodontic departments in the country, known for its exceptional quality of its under graduate and post graduate education programs. The Department is blessed with dedicated and experienced faculty, both full and part-time, all of whom are committed to excellence in education, patient care, scholarly activity, and research. Faculties in the Department are active in dental college and university-wide affairs as well as in the national associations.

The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics supports the mission of Bharath University to be a premier professional college. Specifically the department is committed to providing an endodontic education at the highest level to UG & PG dental students.This is accomplished through four interrelated components: education, research, service, and patient care.

The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics strives to transfer evidence based knowledge to students through an interdisciplinary coordinated curriculum and, to the profession at large through relevant continuing education.

A calibrated and expert faculty teach established standards of competency in patient care by training clinicians to diagnose, manage and/or treat pulp and periradicular pathosis, and assess the outcome of care while maintaining the highest moral and professional ethical standards.

Students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills which facilitates the management of complex clinical problems. Faculty and students conduct and evaluate basic and applied research, which contributes to the professional knowledge base.

The department promotes the concept of life-long learning and actively participates in the advancement and dissemination of knowledge through research and publication.

Facilities and resources

The facilities of the Department contain clinical facilities, research facilities, classrooms, student laboratories, departmental offices, and a computer-learning laboratory. The laboratories and classrooms contain the latest audio-visual equipment.

The Endodontic Clinic is housed on the first floor of the new Building. PG Students are assigned to and maintain their own individual operatories for the three years of the program. The Endodontic Conference Room is located adjacent to the clinic area. Each operatory is equipped with Zeiss surgical operating microscopes. Digital radiography is currently in use, and electronic health records have been implemented. Three full-time chairside assistants staff the clinic.
